Newark Arts High School is a four-year magnet public high school, serving students in Ninth through twelfth grades in Newark, in Essex County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey, operating as part of the Newark Public Schools. The school is located in the University Heights section of Newark.

Born from the Newark School of Fine and Industrial Art, Newark Arts High School opened its doors to students in September 1931 as the first school of its kind in the United States, and almost immediately became the model for the High School of Art & Music in New York City.
The artistic flagship of the NBOE, today’s Arts High offers rigorous artistic and academic programs for grades 9-12, enabling post-secondary matriculation to many of the best institutions in the country. Arts majors are offered in dance, drama, music, TV and media, and visual art.
