16 avr. 2023 · The real answer is because Owen Wilson attempted suicide in 2007 during pre-production of Cars 2. Pixar wasn’t sure about his availability moving forward but they had already started production. So Pixar delayed the release to 2011, did a total rewrite of the script, and minimized his involvement in case he couldn’t return.

I love project cars, as a relaxing gran turismo type game, but it’s not, nor will it ever be classed as a racing simulator. AMS2 is far from perfect, but it is a better simulator than PC2. Also, later that day I watched Cars 3. Again, just at the textual level (with the weird dreams and crash scenes) Cars 2 is still just a more tense watch. Even comparing it to Cars 1 (another film I watched recently), while Cars 1 has more action filled, "scary" scenes, the atmosphere of uncertainty is very similar.
