Synopsis. Christiane, la fille du professeur Genessier, célèbre scientifique spécialisé dans les greffes de tissus humains, a disparu de la clinique de son père où elle était en traitement après avoir été défigurée dans un accident de voiture. La police repêche un cadavre dans la Seine, que Genessier reconnaît comme étant sa fille.

Furthermore, director Georges Franju was clearly focused on giving spectators something more than blood and blood-curdling screams. (Fun fact: the original Psycho film came out the same year—1960.)
