Kenneth Rexroth (22 décembre 1905 - 6 juin 1982) est un poète libertaire américain qui fut l’un des premiers auteurs de son pays à s’intéresser à la tradition poétique japonaise, comme les haïkus et des poèmes chinois.

Rexroth was influential to a number of midcentury American poets associated with the San Francisco Renaissance and was known, in his lifetime, as “Godfather” of the Beats—he organized and emceed the Six Gallery reading in 1955 where Allen Ginsberg first read “ Howl .”.
